Jaipur Diaries, Goa.

We were thrilled when one of the oldest and most reputed fashion houses of Goa, Bharne Creations, approached us to design their new series of outlets titled Jaipur Diaries. The very young and charismatic Siddhant Bharne was passionately invested in this new chain of stores and gave us a completely free hand while designing his first store. Siddhant provided us with a brief that lucidly outlined the practical as well as spacial requirements he envisioned, and this clarity helped us turn his dream into reality with ease.

The idea behind Jaipur Diaries was a store to help Goan clients weave their own 'ethnic story'! The store brings ethnic delights in prints, embroidery and weaves on fusion clothing. Taking a cue from the clothing line displayed at the store, the design incorporates traditional elements of Jaipur's rich architectural language like arches and jharokhas whilst blending into its Goan context with a facade that is influenced by the Portuguese colonial arches from previous times. Sabyasachi’s Hazarabuti Jamdani inspired bright yellow wallpaper adds splashes of vibrancy to the space. Custom designed brass racks and filigree hanging lights subtly echo the traditional architectural style and enhance the charm of the store.
